Inside my mind, I'm somewhere else.
Somewhere real and safe from fear.
One house among so many more,
The one I'm willing to come near.
In this house I can be me,
I can be trusted and be known.
My friends and family there are one
In this peaceful comfort zone.
The more I stay, the less I want
To leave this world of harmony.
Yet I have a fear so strong
That it'd be taken back from me.
I'm glad I have it, here and now,
Imperfect haven, safe and strong.
For now you are the only place
I know I do, in fact, belong.

I wrote this while thinking about my friend's house. It's my second home, and those that live there are my second mother, and sisters that I've never had. ^-^ I love that place oh so much.
